Bike Restoration
Easily one of our most memorable restoration projects was the transformation of an old, rusted, used and abused 27″ women’s bike in to a sexy classic ladies bike.
We came across this bike in amongst the old scrap metal and thought it would be perfect for the project. After stripping the bike back to just the frame we soon realised the only worthwhile parts keeping were the frame, fork and stem. All other parts went back out to the scrap metal heap. With an amazing custom paint job by Mr Ben Green the frame and fork came up a million bucks! When building the bike back up we strove to keep it as retro as possible. So 27″ rims were ordered, and built into a Sturmey Archer 3 speed internal hub and gear system, cotter pin cranks were fitted, retro mudguards, white wall tyres and all the sexy chrome bling we needed to finish it off.
And so there we have it. From junk yard fodder to the realms of royalty. Another example of old meets new, professionally and passionately restored by the gang at The Bike Vault.
